GMCC Member wins major contract

MONCTON, N.B. -- Architects Four of Moncton, New Brunswick has been awarded a contract by the Greater Moncton Airport Authority (GMAA) to design a new airport terminal building.

Architects Four was among seven firms, including six local firms, which bid on the project.

All of the bid submissions were of the highest quality," says Rob Robichaud, President and CEO of the GMAA. In the end, Architects Four represented the best fit with the Airport Authority and our partners."

The contract called for submissions on full design development including contract administration, field supervision and quality assurance for the building of the new $18 million dollar terminal building.

Architects Four will partner with YVRAS, the company which manages the Greater Moncton Airport and their design consultants, Architectura of Vancouver.

Architectura is Canadas leading airport design firm with such airports as the Vancouver International Airport to their credit. They are well known for their thematic development, which will be an essential element in Monctons new terminal building.

This is really the first step in an overall development plan for the Greater Moncton Airport," says GMAA Board Chair Pierre Michaud. We are excited about working with a strong local firm such as Architects Four towards completion of this necessary new building.

In the past couple of years, the Greater Moncton Airport has seen a substantial increase in passenger travel, with over 400,000 passengers expected to travel through the airport this year.

Current plans will see completion of the new terminal building by August
