iScreensaver Toolkit for Macintosh by Xochi Media

LOS ANGELES, September 13, 2000 - Xochi Media Inc. <http://xochi.com/> released version 1.0 of the iScreensaver Toolkit for Macintosh. The Toolkit functions both as a personal Screensaver (to which you can add your own photos and movies) and a professional screensaver development tool (allowing corporations to turn any QuickTime file, including photos, movies, and Macromedia Flash files, into a self-installing screensaver file that can be distributed over the internet - ideal for advertising and promotion).

"We feel this is a significant product announcement, as the Toolkit fills a gap in the Macintosh software market. Until today, the only options for creating screensavers on the Macintosh were to use expensive custom software services or tools that were known to be bug-prone and did not provide a complete solution. With the iScreensaver Toolkit, creating a screensaver really is a point-and-click process that even amateur users can handle." says Michael Diehr, President and Chief Technologist. "Plus, our software doesn't install a single control panel, extension, DLL or other code that can interfere with or crash your system. The software simply beats the competition : it offers more features, greater stability, and a lower price."

Brett Spivey, Co-president of Xochi and Chief Designer, adds "The flexibility of this software is amazing because it is designed to use Macromedia Flash: there are already thousands of Flash animations on the web that can be downloaded and turned into screensavers. Many corporations won't have to author new artwork, as they can simply turn their existing Flash logos and animations into screensavers with a few mouse clicks."

The 1.0 version of the software for Macintosh is available as a free download for evaluation. Personal use is free. An optional $10 registration fee gives additional features. A professional use license is $200. The enterprise version costs $500, which includes unlimited distribution rights and installs fully registered personal versions. The professional license is discounted at 50% off list price from now through the end of September.

The Windows version will be starting a limited beta test within 8 weeks, and should be commercially available in Q4 2000.
