MOBLI, INC. RECEIVES FIRST-ROUND FUNDING FROM INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS
Sept. 13, 2000, Copenhagen, Los Angeles, Tokyo -- Mobli, Inc. a software publisher for mobile devices, announced its first-round of financing from an elite group of Scandinavian, German, Japanese and American investors. This initial funding will allow the American-Scandinavian company to continue its pursuit of becoming a world leader in software for mobile devices.
Moblis private, international investors are backing its goal to be the first global publisher of software for mobile devices such as PDAs and mobile phones. This software will spearhead a computing transformation, allowing people to break from wired PCs and devices by providing the applications and services that will allow people to interact more intelligently with our environment. Mobli has coined this new paradigm person-to-environment," or P2E computing.
The international group of investors includes: Hiroshi Mikitani, founder and CEO of Japans e-commerce giant, Rakuten, Inc.; BHS Holding, the new economy investment unit of Otto Beisheim, founder of the worlds third-largest trading company; Oliver Samver, co-founder of Alando, the most successful German e-commerce site; Christian Kampmann, Vice Chairman and major shareholder at Kampsax, a European leader in the GIS industry and Heather Hazard, former Harvard Business Professor, now Professor at the Copenhagen School of Management.
