Robert Llewellyn Launches His Own Online Comedy Channel

BWebB is the latest concept in broadcasting comedy television, available through the medium of the Internet. British Web Broadcasting is the brainchild of comedy actor Robert Llewellyn (Kryten‚ from Red Dwarf) and Computer Warehouse entrepreneur, Jonathan Cole. They have been joined in this venture by Nigel Planer (BBC TV's The Young Ones) and Phil Cornwell (BBC TV's Stella Street).

It's a Website TV channel that features a number of regularly updated comedy sketches and the sit-com, Jerry & Tom. There are also hilarious contributions from Aussie icon, Sir Les Patterson. Each sketch lasts for no longer than four minutes, short and quick for easy Internet viewing.

Robert and Jonathan conceived the idea back in November 1999 whilst visiting the States. They noticed that all the major television broadcasters were gearing up to deliver their made for TV‚ shows over the Internet. It seemed that nobody was creating original, made for the Web comedy shows and more importantly, nobody was doing it in the UK.

Various new sketches in the pipeline and plans for BWebB
to provide a platform for up and coming talent through their forthcoming BWebB Comedy Showcase will make it one of the most entertaining sites around.
