        GEORGE KOKOTOS ESTATE                             Semeli winery S.A was founded in 1979 by civil engineer George Kokotos and his wife Anne.The company owns an Estate in northern Attica in the foothills of Mount Pendeli.According to Greek Mythology,Dionysos the God of wine first taught man the cultivation of the vine and introduced the culture of wine to Greeks.Today there exist the remains of the theatre of Dionysos that can be visited.SEMELI (the name of estates wines)was the name of Dionysos mother.The estate cultivates international varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon,Chardonnay,Sauvignon,Riesling,as well as the local Savatiano.The microclima of the area is excellent for the ripening of the grapes.The vineyards altitude is 450m.A small winery equipped with all modern machinery creates suberb quality wines ,under the inspection of famous oenologist Antonio Popolanos and his assistants.Air-conditioned underground
