pcReminder.com Launches Free Mailing List Service for Web Sites Featuring the Capability to Send Pre-Scheduled Messages
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – January 11, 2000 - Email reminder and notification service provider pcReminder.com announced today the launch of their free Mailing List Service. This service was designed to meet the needs of the growing number of Web sites outsourcing mailing list services. Using their pcReminder technology, the service allows for delivery of email postcards and email notices. The sites can then create any message such as special events, important notices, and news briefs to stay in touch with users. The messages will include a non-competing sponsor message or ad at the bottom of the postcard or notice.
Web sites can open a free pcReminder.com Mailing List Account from which they can implement a small box on their own home page for visitors to join their mailing list. List members email addresses are automatically added to the accounts address book as they sign up. pcReminder.coms Privacy Statement states that they do not release any members email address, nor do they personally use them. Only the company or Web site mailing list administrator will have access to the list. From the account, messages can be created or edited and pre-schedule for delivery at a specific date and time.
Outsourcing of email services is a growing trend among Web sites," comments Pete Halsted, Chief Technology Officer of pcReminder.com. "Our Mailing List Service is just a natural extension of our pcReminder services. We wanted to offer a more unique service than what is currently available on the Internet, and by adding the elements of HTML email and pre-scheduled delivery times, we have accomplished that."
According to pcReminder.com, companies have already begun using the service on their Web sites, primarily because of its features and the fact that it is free. Similarly offered services do not offer as many features and some even charge for the service. To send messages to mailing list members without an ad, companies can purchase the sponsor ad at the bottom themselves. They can then use the service to send mailing list members newsbriefs and other information while highlighting a new product or service in the advertisement. PcReminder has found that this has been proven as an extremely effective marketing strategy.
