Sx SportsMed.com Uncovers the Affects of Injury on The Psyche of Sports Enthusiasts Across the Country
According to a survey conducted by Sx SportsMed.com, a first-of-its-kind web site offering information, expertise and product solutions in sports medicine, 71% of people who were suffering a sports injury said they helped their kids less with their homework compared to prior to their injury. Also, 59% of people currently suffering a sports injury were more likely to report arguing with their spouse about money than before they were injured. And in the workplace… people who were suffering an injury were three times as likely to work less hours as compared to before they were injured.
The survey, which queried 236 active people across the country who were currently suffering a sports injury, was designed to uncover the affects that a sports injury has on people off the field. Some surprising results showed that there was a loss of interest in sex, and even a need for new juvenile escapes…

"A sports injury for an athlete, whether a pro or someone who plays pick-up games on weekends, can be devastating," said Diane Benson, founder and CEO of Sx SportsMed.com. "What weve found from this survey is that since a sports injury has such an impact upon peoples everyday lives, injury prevention and care is that much more important."
Other interesting findings included: 67% of people who were currently suffering a sports injury said that they gambled more often than prior to their injury. Also of interest was that people who were currently suffering a sports injury were six times more likely to report not getting along with their in-laws compared to before they were injured. And oddly, people who were currently suffering a sports injury were three time as likely to lose their wallet compared to prior to their injury.
