THE GENERATION OF HOPE IMPACTS THE COMMUNITY BY BRINGING 4-ON-4 FLAG FOOTBALL BACK TO HOUSTON!

Houston, TX September 26, 2000- When the Oilers left Houston in 1997 so did the very popular 4-on-4 flag football tournament. It is Back! The Generation of Hope (GOH), the young adult ministry at the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church (GHMBC), is hosting the First Annual Down, Out & Up 4-on-4 Flag Football Tournament at Cullen Park on October 28 - October 29, 2000.
A significant portion of the proceeds raised from this event will be GOHs donation to the Good Hope Family Life Center. The Family Life Center will be a multiple purpose facility that will accommodate the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of many in our community and church famly. Tournament Coordinator Robert Nobles of Houston, TX says, It is important that our generation begin to make a positive impact in our community. Many of todays youth have taken advantage of the hard work and accomplishments of past generations, while giving very little back. The money raised from this tournament will begin GOHs contribution."
This tournament is expected to draw several hundred teams from around the city, state and region to compete for cash and prizes. Players of all ages, gender, and skill level are invited to participate in this event. The flag football tournament will run Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8pm. Other activities, such as, a children play area, long distance throwing contest, and the fastest person contest have been planned.
Also, a pre-tournament meet and greet fellowship will be held a Jillians, the new entertainment complex off I-10 and Silber, October 27, 2000.
Mr. Nobles adds, This will be a great weekend of family entertainment. We encourage spectators to come out for food, fun, and lots of touchdowns." Tournament registration ends October 22, 2000.
