blue-silicon Unveils New EEM Product Line

blue-silicon Unveils New EEM Product Line
New b2 and b3 messaging systems to provide one-source mailbox scalable for all business users communication systems

San Diego, CA (October 4, 2000) –     blue-silicon, the leading provider of Extended Enterprise Messaging(EEM) to businesses, today introduced two new services at the Internet Telephony Show in San Diego. The new globally accessible messaging services, b2 and b3, allow access to multiple communication media – voicemail, email, fax and video – through one single electronic mailbox accessible from anywhere in the world at the cost of a local phone call.

Through the b2 and b3 product offerings, blue-silicon delivers what unified messaging has yet to deliver – a globally accessible, outsourced messaging service with proven integration to existing PBX and Centrex systems. Already accessible through over 100 Points of Presence (POPs), businesses can establish a virtual presence in multiple cities using local telephone numbers. Traditionally available to only large enterprises, b2 and b3 offer small- to medium-sized businesses the full advantage of EEM immediately and at affordable rates.

Extended Enterprise Messaging, a new category in enterprise-grade message outsourcing, delivers unified voice, fax, email and video messaging and communication capabilities to corporate users via the Internet without requiring any on-premise equipment," says Samuel Williams, vice president of Marketing for blue-silicon. As business users continue to rely on various communication devices, the next logical step was to create a solution that would simplify the message retrieval process at an affordable cost while increasing performance. The ability to listen to email from a cell phone and then reply to that email with voice is a notable productivity gain for mobile business."

The b2 carrier-grade messaging solution includes many valuable benefits for business customers:
·No costly equipment - The b2 offering is a subscription-based service. blue-silicon provides all required hardware and software for
service providers to offer comprehensive messaging to their business
clientele with no upfront capital outlay.

·Full scalability - EEM is easily upgraded to ensure a continuous high level of communication as business needs expand.

·Global roaming - For the cost of a local call in any country (where there are Points of Presence), users can receive messages at any time by accessing a personal blue-silicon mailbox.

·Virtual Presence - Companies can have a virtual local presence in multiple cities where customers dial a local number to leave messages which can be retrieved and managed from anywhere in the world.

The b3 messaging system is fully integrated with the corporate PBX telephone switching system and includes all features offered through the b2 system as well as:

·Automated attendant - Customers are guided through personalized menus and can leave messages that are linked and stored in the users central mailbox.

·Message wait indication - All incoming email, fax and voicemail illuminate the office phones message wait light to alert users to new messages.

·Easy access to company directory - All incoming callers can seamlessly access the company directory to locate personnel or services.

·Global Access - All email, fax, voice and video messages can be accessed through an internal extension number or by calling a local number from anywhere in the world.

Prohibitive equipment cost, complex installation and maintenance, and the confusion between corporate telecom and data infrastructures have inhibited businesses from embracing unified messaging," adds Williams. Now, the b2 and b3 Extended Enterprise Messaging solutions offer corporate users the competitive advantage of convergence while keeping their existing telecom and IT investment, including PBX systems and email servers. Through EEM, we are able to provide a migration path to newer generation IP-based communication infrastructure."
