FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WINSTON-SALEM -- Winston-Salem native Dawn Lloyd quietly began a labor of love four years ago thats starting to attract attention from some very unexpected places and people she never thought would take serious note of her work.

Not only have her efforts gained her a partnership with the well-known womens web site, WomensForum.com; but have also resulted in an alliance with nationally syndicated columnist and author, Jodie Lynn; and an upcoming appearance in Raleigh on October 14th as a featured speaker at a seminar on "Mothers & More."

At first glance, Lloyd may appear to be the average wife and mother of two – taking care of her children, husband, and home, and working at a part-time job. But during nap times and between household chores, this research and development dynamo has quietly situated herself at her beloved computer gathering information, developing a network of dedicated and loyal readers, and introducing herself to a variety of medical and parenting specialists. The result is a wildly popular and insightful parenting newsletter, and an Internet presence that has become a household word among young parents all over the world . . . BabyUniversity.com.

Lloyd attributes her success to giving parents what they want – one-stop shopping for ideas, advice and support as their young children grow. "Ive been able to develop a rapport with other parents because I remember my own frustration about not having one central place to find the answers to my questions. I feel as though Ive accomplished my goal in supplying such a place for other parents, both through my web site and my newsletter."
Apparently, nationally syndicated columnist Jodie Lynn agrees as she has recently partnered with Lloyd to collect data for her weekly column and an upcoming book. "Each week I present a new question or dilemma to my readers and they provide their advice. Jodie will be using the answers in her column or in one of her upcoming books," says Lloyd.

BabyUniversity at www.babyuniversity.com has not gone unnoticed by other parenting groups either as Lloyd has been asked to bring her skills to an October 14th workshop on Mothers & More, The Network for Sequencing Women to be held in Raleigh, NC. "Ive been asked to explain how women who want to stay home with their children full-time can generate interest and dollars from an e-business. Its a great opportunity for me to share all Ive learned in the past four years with other women who are interested in working from home. I hope that Ill be able to provide enough information to save them some of the time-consuming trial and error attempts that most of us who started Internet businesses just a few short years ago had to go through. The Internet has a much friendlier working atmosphere now. Its gone from the mysterious haven of technical junkies who werent willing to share information, to a world of small communities that nurture and encourage new entrepreneurs. And although thats not the main focus of my own web site, anything that helps mothers stay home with their children, is important to me, so Im thrilled at being able to participate in this workshop."

It should be noted that Lloyds efforts dont stop at the door of BabyUniversity, she is also a partner in an online baby mall, MyBabyShops.com and does some site design work for her fathers online site hosting business. It appears that she is firmly planted in the cyber world of e-business.

Anyone interested in participating in the Mothers & More seminar to hear Lloyd speak may contact Karen Fuss at karendave@ipass.net or 919-845-6063 for pre-registration. Tickets are also available at the door of the Sertoma Arts Center, 1400 West Millbrook Rd. in Raleigh, NC.
