Xequte Releases Updated Version of Popular Mailing List Management Software

Wellington, NZ -- 23 October 2000 -- Xequte announced the general release today of version 2.0 of ListKing, their mailing list management solution.

By integrating with Microsoft Outlook, ListKing provides all of the features of a mailing list server but from a client PC. ListKing maintains a database of your customer list and allows users to easily add and remove themselves with e-mails containing standard command such as 'Subscribe' or 'Unsubscribe'. Administrators and users can easily send to the list or particular list categories.

ListKing also allows you to scan Outlook folders for new entries, for example, adding all the people in your Outlook Contacts folder or all those who have e-mailed you directly with product inquiries.

Automatic processing of messages that have been returned as undeliverable is supported and e-mail addresses are removed from your mailing list after a preset number of 'bounces'

"After ListKing v1.0 was released earlier this year, we were surprised by its rapid uptake; having calculated that its target market was relatively small. We have attributed this to the lack of competitors addressing its niche of small to medium-sized organizations who cannot justify a server based solution," said Nigel Cross, Director of Xequte.

"While there are also web sites who offer free e-mail "communities", the advantage of our solution is the security of knowing your customer list is stored on your own systems, plus subscribing and unsubscribing with ListKing is much simpler and there are no advertising blurbs," says Cross.

With version 2.0 support has been added for retrieval and storing of customer names, which can be used for sending custom addressed e-mails (such as 'Dear John'). Support for list member sending is also provided with full control over the sending rights of individual members.

A number of interface improvements have also been delivered, including field mapping when importing entries into your list, scanning for addresses within sub-folders of Outlook and support for e-mail signatures.
