DETROIT RECORD LABEL LAUNCHES NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN RAP MUSIC GENRE WITH A MAJOR DISTRIBUTION DEAL

October 23, 2000 (Detroit, MI)- Platinum Plus Records, a company launched by Kevin Najor of Detroit is erasing the geographic boundaries that separate northern and southern styles of rap music. Platinum Plus Records of Detroit and Southern Music Distribution of Atlanta have agreed to an exclusive distribution agreement that accomplishes this mission of distributing, manufacturing and marketing Platinum Plus Records' recordings. Platinum Plus Records shall have its artists distributed domestically and internationally.
Platinum Plus Records, established in 1999 by Kevin Najor, releases music from the rap, hip hop and R & B genres blending the musical styles from the north and south. Platinum Plus Records has selected a talented team of advisors with nearly 40 years of combined experience in the entertainment industry.
Detroit Attorney Gregory J. Reed, director of business and legal affairs for Platinum Plus, has more than 25 years of experience in the music business and has represented some of the industrys top musical acts such as Anita Baker, Kid Rock, The Winans, UNV etc.
Edward Strickland, a music industry veteran, joins the team to serve as its marketing and promotions consultant. With over a decade of marketing experience, his impressive list of clientele include, Tupac, Madonna, OutKast, Silk Tha Shocker, Bones Thugs & Harmony among others.
Southern Music Distribution is a national distributor of independent music. The owner and president , Mike Walker is veteran of the music business with over 30 years of experience and a staff comprised of experienced sales, marketing and promotion people based in all regions of the country. Southern has gained national prominence recently by distributing a string of hit records by artists who have charted nationwide on Billboard magazine such as Ludacris (Whats Your Fantasy?") and Lil John & the Eastside Boyz (I Like Dem Girlz").
Platinum Plus will drop its first major rap artist, Pusher Deville this week. The first release from Pusher DeVille entitled, What Its About Here" will be in stores on October 28, 2000, with his album of the same name scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2001.
In addition to the forthcoming project by Pusher DeVille, Platinum Plus has immediate plans to expand its roster and is currently seeking new artists nationwide.
