Hidden Refunds Found in Freight & Utility Bills!

Did you know there are millions of dollars in freight and utility bills just waiting to be claimed?

According to the Northeast Herald, 90% of telephone and utility bills contain hidden overcharges! Unfortunately, most of the errors are nearly impossible to detect. And if they do remain undetected, mistakes can compound into an enormous overbilling within a short period of time.

Many state utility commissions admit that billing errors due occur frequently. However, telephone and utility companies rarely admit their errors and almost always try to convince customers that they are mistaken. Furthermore, most state utility commissions often do not aggressively advocate for the consumer in resolving billing disputes.

However, states do allow consumers to recover billing overpayments for the past few years. But, it is the customers' responsibility to find the errors.

Countless companies of all types and sizes have received freight and utility rebates ranging from less than $100 to as much as $4,000,000! Ironically, many of the larger companies had their invoices audited internally. In each case an outside specialist was responsible for uncovering these monstrous gaffes. The internal auditors could not find them.

After conducting an investigation of the billing practices of New York Bell, the New York Public Service Commission reported, "The New York Telephone Company made major errors on more than half the phone bills checked in a recent study. Similar studies around the nation would yield similar results."

As telephone companies offer more services and technologies, and the bills get more components and more complex, the overbilling will get worse. And since telephone bills contain the most errors among the utilities, they often yield the largest rebates.

Surprisingly though, freight bills contain even more errors than telephone bills! The bad news is freight bills are much more difficult to audit than all the other types of utility bills combined!

Why do these outrageous mistakes go undetected by sophisticated companies and government agencies year after year?
Freight and utility bill auditing is typically assigned to an accountant, engineer or shipping manager who has no formal training in this little-known field of auditing. That is a BIG mistake! Freight bill auditing and utility bill auditing is not taught in colleges and universities. It must be learned from a handful of auditing firms which specialize in this type of auditing.

Though engineers, accountants and freight managers have certain skills, they don't have specialized knowledge of utility and freight billing concepts. Without such crucial expertise, it is impossible to know if your company is being billed correctly, (or incorrectly) for freight and utility services. And for every error found by company employees, an outside specialist could find many more!

Though some employees do a fairly good job at saving their company money, they do tend to have a biased perspective of their employers needs and overlook many overcharges and savings opportunities. A freight or utility bill auditor however, could provide an unbiased, expert analysis which could save you thousands and perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars!
Most auditors work on a contingency fee basis, so they don't get paid unless you get results! And their fee may be tax deductible.

Many well-known companies and government agencies are beginning to save millions of dollars per year with the help of this new breed of auditing specialists.

And as freight and utility costs continue to erode company profits, it makes sense to have your bills audited by specialists.
