Spacelabs Medical Integrates KOM NETWORKS Optical Storage
Management Software with its BirthNet Obstetrical Management System

Redmond, WA and Ottawa, Canada . . . KOM NETWORKS Inc. has signed a worldwide OEM agreement with Spacelabs Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: SLMD) to integrate KOM NETWORKS OptiStorm storage management software with Spacelabs Caremaster® Plus BirthNet® obstetrical data management system. This enhanced product will be marketed and sold through Spacelabs worldwide channels.

Spacelabs' BirthNet obstetrical data management system features computerized charting and information designed specifically for the labor and delivery environment. It collects obstetrical information into one location for simple access and review by the appropriate caregivers.

KOM NETWORKS OptiStorm software will provide Spacelabs BirthNet with the ability to store important data optically, with quick, easy access when needed. OptiStorm provides a solution for data protection, data management, and storage-related business problems in todays e-business and data intensive world.
