Consumers Report Which Chain Has Best Pizza

Oxford, Miss.-A consumer survey conducted in September by Pizza Marketing Quarterly magazine and RestaurantSurveys.com shows which pizza chains are doing the best job of satisfying their customers on a national basis.
When asked if they plan to go back, 78 percent of those eating a Papa Johns pizza in the last three months said they would order again within the next three months. Pizza Hut and Dominos follow, but are within the margin of error (+ or -- 5 percentage points). Customers reported Papa Johns pizza as having the best taste and service. Statistically, Godfathers Pizza and Pizza Hut customers are equally opinionated in the taste category. Dominos and Papa Johns are within 1 percentage point of each other in speed of delivery. Little Caesars owns the low price niche among those polled.
Of course it was easier to find more Pizza Hut customers than any other because they have more locations," says Steve Green, editor and publisher of PMQ magazine. We only let a customers opinion count if it was about a pizzeria they had visited during the last three months. Papa Johns claimed overall victory by scoring highest in five out of the nine contests. "
The survey consist of 2,093 pizza consumers from across the country who were interviewed via the Internet reaching a statistical confidence level of + or -- 5 percentage points for the top four national chains. Sbarros came in at + or -- 7 percentage points and Godfathers Pizza was + or -- 9 percentage points.          PMQ magazine is a trade publication serving the pizza industry with marketing strategies for more than four years. RestaurantSurveys.com is a full-service online marketing research firm specializing in the restaurant industry.
