Nairobi, Kenya set for Historic Event
The East African Ministerial Leadership Conference - Kenyatta
International Convention CentreNairobi, Kenya12/4/2000 - 12/8/2000A gathering of over 7000 Church leaders, civic leaders, workers and congregants from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Uganda for the purpose of mutual edification, unification and leadership training to benefit the growing Church population of these nations. Politically, the Kenyan government, the President of Kenya as well as the governments of surrounding nations supports this event due to its potential of a positive effect on hundreds of thousands of people in their countries. This is the first year of this event.The conference is being headed up by Founder and President of Foundation for Human Helps, Rev. Marvin Gorman of New Orleans, LA. Reverend Gorman has ministered many times in Kenya. His ministry has impressed many heads of states in this region. Prior to the conference, Rev. Gorman will be on national television for three nights. He is coordinating the event with Kenyan ministerial figures, Philip Karanja, Arthur Muyu and
Bishop Washington Minghetti. Reverend Gorman has inivited key personnel from the U.S. that are to travel with him to impart to these many leaders in workshops and the general sessions.Recording artist, trumpeter and innovative musician/performer, Ken Soltys, is one of those invited to go to Kenya with Rev. Gorman. Kens role will be to perform before each of the 12 - 15 general sessions and take part in the worship and music of the conference. Ken will also assist in workshops demonstrating the unique uses of music in worship, the use of various instruments, the art of improvisation and more. Many of these workshops will be attended by more than 1000 leaders. The general session performances and worship will include more than 7000 ministerial and civic leaders.The Kenyan media considers this a major event due to the governments endorsement of Rev. Gormans ministry. Ken was also invited by Rev. Gorman to accompany him in the dedication of Kenyas largest evangelical Church. This is scheduled take place on
