Pramati Launches Server 2.0 targeting OEMs and Product Developers
The new release of Pramati Server combines enterprise-level features with J2EE standards and leads the market in performance. The software is offered to major technology vendors through a unique Private Label relationship.
Hyderabad, India – November 20th, 2000 – Pramati Technologies Ltd today announced the release of its Server 2.0 and its Private Label relationship.
The early days of the application server industry was characterized by Fortune 500 and large Dot Com ventures developing custom apps in house. While this is likely to continue, the mass market will only come when vendors build J2EE into their off-the-shelf products.
Pramati is targeting this OEM market with its latest Server 2.0 and its unique Private Label relationship.
Pramati Server 2.0 is fully standards compliant, offers best in class performance and is written completely in Java. The new features of clustering with load balancing and failover capabilities makes it highly suited for large-scale deployments. However having a standards-compliant, high performance server is only the ticket to the game. What is really appealing to many large vendors is Pramatis Private Label offering, which includes:
· Branding rights. Vendors can market the server under their name and specialized to their domain.
· Standards Commitment. Pramati commits to keeping the Server continuously in sync with the constantly evolving set of J2EE standards.
· Pricing Control. Vendors set their own licensing terms.
· Dedicated Team. Pramati creates a dedicated team at its offshore development center that focuses on integration, customization and performance issues that are specific to the vendor.
· Source Code. Large vendors may want the comfort of having source available, even though Pramatis support will usually make this unnecessary.
We see many large vendors either building J2EE Servers in-house or buying app server companies for hundreds of millions of dollars" says Jay Pullur, Pramatis CEO. This is totally unnecessary and a huge waste of resources. Companies are doing this because the normal deals from app server vendors simply dont give them the control that they need. We have done a simple thing. We have listened closely to what large vendors say they want from their OEM relationships. Then we developed a commercial relationship that meets those needs.
Pramati Server 2.0 is priced at $8,000 per CPU for end deployment. Developers can download an evaluation copy of Server 2.0 from Pramati at www.pramati.com
