POS/ware Inc. cooks up
new restaurant division
Massachusetts-based provider of Point-Of-Sale hardware and software will
offer specialized systems and electronic gift cards to restaurants and
chains
DATELINE: Pepperell, MA, December1, 2000...
POS/ware Inc., a Pepperell, Massachusetts-based firm specializing in
Point-Of-Sale systems, has announced the creation of a new restaurant
division that will offer customized hardware, software and electronic
gift cards to meet the needs of dining establishments of all types and
sizes.
Restaurant management is an increasingly complex task that has evolved
far beyond the mere challenge of keeping a clean kitchen and a
hospitable hostess. Tracking receivables, controlling inventory,
processing payments, menu planning, fostering customer loyalty and
collecting marketing data are among the items on the full plate faced by
owners.
POS/wares Point-Of-Sale systems, magnetic stripe cards and electronic
gift certificates offer an effective solution to these challenges faced
by individual restaurants, restaurant chains, cafeterias, fast food
franchises, hotels, casinos, cruise lines, vacation resorts, country
clubs and hospitals. Any dining establishment can benefit from decreased
labor, increased sales and streamlined record keeping.
POS/ware, Inc. -- founded by the husband and wife team of Nelson and
Carroll Rosenstein -- is a consulting firm specializing in the
implementation of Point-Of-Sale systems for a wide range of businesses.
The companys customized hardware and software systems allow businesses
to authorize, collect, store and process transaction information from
charge cards, sales terminals and barcode readers. The companys
DirectNET system is an online transaction processing program that can
handle private label and third party card, accepting transactions from
dial-up stations or LAN-connected terminals.
The POS/ware system, by reducing many transactions down to just a few
seconds, maximizes employee efficiency, reduces customer wait and saves
on long distance costs for payment processing.
A GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING
In addition to providing a link from the front of the house to the back
office, POS/wares electronic gift cards offer attractive benefits for
both restaurants and their patrons.
Electronic gift cards are used the same as traditional gift certificate
but offer the full features of a debit card. Customers choose an amount
and, in seconds, a plastic card bearing the restaurants logo is
electronically coded and authorized for future use. After each
transaction, a balance remains on the card, eliminating the need to
return change and encouraging repeat business.
Unlike paper gift certificates, gift cards are less likely to be damaged
and lost. Tracking their sale and use is fully automated. Gift cards can
also be adapted for use as a customer rewards card and track repeat
business and offered incentives.
Our POS systems and gift cards can be as simple or complex as the
customer requires," said Carroll Rosenstein, president and co-founder of
POS/ware. We can tailor it for a single unit, mom and pop"
establishment or link multiple units of a restaurant chain so that
information can be shared and reported to a central location. This
flexibility, expandability and ease of use is a hallmark of all our
products."
POS/ware, Inc. is located at 107 Elm St. in Pepperell, MA. The firm can
