New service enhancement for carriers and voice application service providers
EVERYBODY, HAVE YOU HEARD?
blue-silicon TO PARTNER WITH MOCKINGBIRD
New partnership delivers industry-leading service enhancement to carriers and voice application service providers worldwide
SAN JOSE, CA (December 4, 2000) -- blue-silicon, the leading provider of Extended Enterprise Messaging (EEM) to businesses, today announced an agreement with Mockingbird Networks, a global leader in carrier-grade VoIP application switches, to begin interoperability testing between their switch and EEM solutions.
Under this agreement, blue-silicon will enable Mockingbird to offer their end users a market-differentiating service enhancement to complement their NuvoStream integrated VoIP application switch. The Mockingbird NuvoStream integrated VoIP application switches are feature-rich, revenue-ready platforms running on an open, standards-based UNIX system with fully integrated SS7 capability.
Beginning in January 2001, Mockingbird Networks will incorporate the blue-silicon b2 carrier-grade messaging solution through the H.323 protocol. The b2 solution includes many valuable benefits for business customers:
· No costly equipment - The b2 offering is a subscription-based service. blue-silicon provides all required hardware and software for
service providers to offer comprehensive messaging to their business clientele with no upfront capital outlay.
· Full scalability - EEM is easily upgraded to ensure a continuous high level of communication as business needs expand.
· Global roaming - For the cost of a local call in any country (where there are points of presence), users can receive messages at any time by accessing a personal blue-silicon mailbox.
· Virtual Presence - Companies can have a virtual local presence in multiple cities where customers dial a local number to leave messages which can be retrieved and managed from anywhere in the world.
Mockingbird is partnering with leading voice ASPs that have the vision and the technology to develop killer applications for packet voice networks," says John Colombo, Mockingbird Networks director of business development. blue-silicons ability to integrate with the wide variety of incumbent telephony systems at both an enterprise and carrier-grade level played a significant role in our decision to collaborate with them."
We share a common goal with Mockingbird Networks to provide the best service solutions to businesses," says Samuel Williams, vice president of Marketing for blue-silicon. Both architectures were designed to interoperate with other platforms and adhere to emerging standards, thereby creating a complete suite of services resulting in a significant business advantage."
