TAG IT SCORES A TRIFECTA WITH LAUNCH OF NEW SITE, NEW NEWSLETTER & NEW E-REPORT
Premier Issue Of "i-on-Ti," Provides Timely Information On Tag It Services, Research Studies And News.
New York, NY - December 5, 2000 -- Tag It (www.taggin.com), a leading online infomediary in the entertainment and New Media sector, announced the relaunch of its corporate site, capping a year which witnessed the redesign of all the company's online properties. The site redesign also coincided with the release of "i-on-TI," a cmpany newsletter serving as a window on new developments and project being developed by the publisher and consultancy.
What began as a web boutique in 1997, Tag It has grown into a leading Content Service Provider (CSP) and research firm in the evolving digital entertainment and media industry. The company inaugurated its entry into the sector three years ago with the launch of its first online publication, Beats E-Zine, later renamed MusicDish, a B2B trade e-Journal. The journal would serve as the incubator for Tag It's subsequent publications, including 'LA'Ritmo.com and Black Hole, Latin and Urban music magazine respectively, and Mi2N, the largest online industry newswire. These properties have remained at the core of Tag It's publication & syndication business and allowed it to carve a unique role in the industry.
"A lot of our readers just have no idea that all these music properties are in fact under one roof," explained Sounni de de Fontenay, Tag It COO & Publisher. "To be frank, we've always placed such an emphasis on our publications that the corporate site had remained largely neglected and out of dates. This redesign really reflects how far we have come as well as providing an inkling into where we are going."
In addition to delivering the latest company news headlines, the homepage also features "The Digital Economy: How Digital Goods are Reshaping the Rules of Commerce," a paper on the emergence of peer-to-peer networking and its impact on copyright and the music industry that was recently published in Communications & Strategies' November special issue on the Net Economy. More broadly, the newly redesigned site provides an overview of the company's three lines of business:
- Content Publishing and Syndication services such as its private label ASP content platform, Mi2N News Channel.
- iDataDesign Services consisting of back and front end development, client/server application and intranet design, content management and syndication systems.
- Consulting and Research ranging on today's cutting edge issues such as peer-to-peer & digital rights management, as well as its industry surveys.
The company newsletter, i_on_TI will follow the approach of major technology firms, mixing Tag It relevant news and developments with insightful studies and recources relevant to the company's target audience of entertainment/new media executives and decision makers. As such, the inaugual issue opens with an essay by Sounni de Fontenay on Tag It's experience over the last two years in developing its syndication services and follow up survey on the topic. The newsletter will also introduce Tag It's fourth e-Report "Loss of
Innocence: Story of a Rebel, MP3.com." From Michael Robertson's initial MusicDish appearance in 1998, to the launch of and lawsuit around My.MP3.com, to the unveiling of the MSP (Music Service Provider) model, "Loss of Innocence" gives a broad and in-depth view of the evolution of this extraordinary company as it changed all the rules.
