GigaPlan Web and GigaPlan.NET set for early December Launch
Novato, California (November 27, 2000) -- GigaPlan, Inc., newly founded developer of Project Management solutions and technologies, announced the upcoming release of GigaPlan Web and GigaPlan.NET, web-based products that allow project managers, distributed teams and companies to schedule projects, organize resources and collaborate on plans and documents over the Internet.
GigaPlan, Inc., developers of the award-winning TurboProjectâ desktop project management applications, provides technologies for companies of all size, delivering the ability to manage and interactively modify schedules, work assignments, resource allocations and project information concurrently and in real time, from anywhere in the world - simply using a browser and Internet connection. GigaPlan technology is also compatible with the widely popular .MPD file format used by Microsoft Project, which boasts 5 million users worldwide.

GigaPlan users who are already deployed on Microsoft Project or TurboProject can continue to use these desktop products in conjunction with GigaPlan Web or GigaPlan.NET. Desktop files created in Microsoft Project or TurboProject are simply uploaded and converted to the GigaPlan server over the Web, where team members can make changes through the browser. Modified project files can then be downloaded and re-converted to Microsoft Project or TurboProject at the desktop, with updated information integrated into the existing master schedule.

GigaPlan.NET -- The ASP Version
GigaPlan.NET allows organizations to rent the software on a monthly seat-license basis, with project files and documents residing on GigaPlan managed servers. This option boasts a low start-up cost and fewer maintenance issues. Alternatively, users can opt for the self-hosted GigaPlan Web version, in which the deploying organization installs the GigaPlan software on its own servers and manages the application internally or through a managed server.
