"I've Got Friends In Votin' Places" --CD Parodies Take Pot Shots At Gore
De Queen, AR-- As the Election 2000 debacle draws on and on, at least one American has found humor in it.
Wayne Hicks, a songwriter whose venue usually sticks to Christian Music, has been penning and recording lyrics to some of Rock and Country Music's best known melodies, and "I've got Friends In Votin' Places" has its roots (obviously) in the Garth Brooks song of almost the same name.
"I'd wanted to do parodies for a while," says Wayne, "and the Election mess and recounts left me an opening I'd have had to be blind to miss!"
Wayne has posted his songs on the Internet for all to hear, and has garnered a lot of attention from Conservative News Sites. "A couple of them are pushing the songs for me, and that's helping." A CD of the songs is also available.
