"Dotto on Data" Selects Eyeball Chat for Video Interviews on Live TV
Dotto on Data, a weekly computer television program broadcast across Canada and Webcast on www.mediaontap.com, has selected Eyeball Chat to interview remote participants in real-time interactive video while on live television.
Host Steve Dotto and Producer Kim Irvine chose Eyeball Chat for its ease of use, reliability, and video quality, to provide a more compelling experience for the audience. After using other video communication software programs which had occasionally been unreliable and difficult to set up, they had reverted back to using still images of guest interviewees as a complement to telephone calls in remote interviews.
EASY TO USE, RELIABLE
"Because of our past experiences with video communication, we know that live video chat over the Internet on live television can be a recipe for disaster. However, our first experience with Eyeball Chat was a great success, so we decided to continue using it to conduct our remote interviews," said Dotto.
AUDIENCE DRAW
"Interviews held over Eyeball Chat in real-time audio and video are much more exciting for our audience than simply seeing a still image," said Dotto. "Since we are a computer show, we also want to lead by example, to show our users how they can get the most out of their computers and how technology can be easily applied to enhance their personal and business needs."
""We are very happy to help Dotto on Data harness the unparalleled reliability and ease of use of Eyeball Chat to hold face-to-face interviews with guests of the show when they are unable to be in the studio in person. This clearly demonstrates the benefit of video communication in maintaining a truly interactive, personable, and heightened experience for viewers of the show," says Ruxandra Aldea, Director of Marketing at Eyeball.com.
To use Eyeball Chat for a live video interview, Dotto simply tells the remote guest to download and install Eyeball Chat from www.eyeball.com/download prior to the Sunday show. Then he adds their Eyeball ID to his Contact List and instantly connects with them face-to-face during the show.
The premiere episode in which Dotto on Data showcased Eyeball Chat was broadcast live on December 3rd, followed by the second episode on December 10th featuring game guru Marc Saltzman from Toronto, ON. Dotto on Data will continue to use Eyeball Chat to interview participants from across North America when they cannot be interviewed in the Burnaby, BC studio. Dotto on Data interviews experts and leaders to discuss new gadgets, software, and games for home computer users.
