New Star In The SF Universe Launches Official Web Site, Ending A Twenty-Three Year Old Journey!
[Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio]--A new star dawns in the universe of SF literature. Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio resident Anthony B. Fellows, commemorating the official launch of his newly published SF adventure novel, the epic "Tamarlayn" by new publisher Greatunpublished.com, has created an Official Web Site to promote and market his recently published work to a worldwide audience. Titled "Destiny Waits For Me," the Web Site features excerpts and background data from his novel and biographical information on the author himself, a Kansas native. The dual events are the end result of a dream begun nearly twenty-four years before when the author, now thirty-five, was only twelve years of age."Tamarlayn" chronicles the epic adventures of the book's protagonist, a celebrated Makrannian Star Assembly fighter pilot and war hero named Aradames Tamarlayn. In the novel, two great galactic powers, the benevolent Makrannian Star Assembly, and the Azeri Dominion, a savage empire of ruthless warriors, have warred for 200 years in a vast conflict waged
across thousands of star systems and costing countless lives. The present. The two warring empires are deadlocked, neither side able to deliver a decisive blow to the other, thus unable to end the Galaxy's most devastating conflict ever. However, the Dominion, having expended precious financial and natural resources in the ongoing struggle, is in dire straits, and now finds itself on the periphery of total collapse and civil war if itcannot reverse its military and economic reversals brought on by two centuries of war. Driven to action by an ailing Emperor Ariga Che'lwatan desperate to hold onto Imperial power and thwart the ambitions of those seeking to seize the Imperial Throne for themselves, its leaders hatch a daring gambit to destroy the Assembly once and for all.
Aradames, following an incident in the Gamma Umphales Star System, will find himself in a desperate race against time to prevent the Azeris from utterly destroying the Assembly.
Anthony offers, "This is really a life-affirming event for me, because it's something very near and dear to my heart. It's been twenty-three years since I first drafted the rough outlines of the novel readers know as 'Tamarlayn' Through relentless effort and the support of my publisher, Greatunpublished.com, that lifelong dream's become a reality. Now, I'm inviting everyone to come and share in the celebration."
Even as Anthony actively and aggressively promotes his work online and in other more traditional quarters, he's joined in a partnership with several of his fellow GU authors, Dorion Sagan (son of the late Carl Sagan), Carl Rafala, John Jurek and Paul Hughes called the "Guardians of Forever." Fellow Guardian Carl Rafala intends to market the group's published works to targeted national media starting next year, and Anthony has been charged with promoting the group online. In addition to his own Web Site, he's created their Official Web Site, the "Guardians of Forever" here:
http://www.tamarlayn.50megs.com/guardians.
The Site features excerpts from the listed
authors' works and links back to their Greatunpublished.com Author's Pages where readers can purchase their works, if so desired. Though expressly created by him to showcase his fellow GU authors, Anthony's decided Guardian membership will not be strictly limited to GU authors. He intends, at some future date to launch a related showcase for both published and unpublished writers of SF/Fantasy and Horror who wish added exposure for their works on the WWW.
He explains, "Whether published or not, any writer seeking additional press for his/her work on the WWW, providing I determine it's something meeting the standards as outlined by the Guardians, will indeed find a home here for their work, and I'll assist in marketing their work as best as efforts allow. However," he adds cautiously, "I can't promise you'll hit the New York Times Bestseller List by being featured on any of my Sites. Ultimately, as with anything you want to be a success, it all comes down to the individual working the crowds, so
tospeak."
Although you can already visit "Destiny Waits For Me," the Site will officially launch on December 20, 2000. Anthony invites all fans of science fiction worldwide to come check out excerpts and background data on his novel, and looks forward to their feedback. Ever mindful of the future, he plans a successive series of sequel and prequel books to be published under the "Tamarlayn" title featuring characters and situations from the first book. Though, right now, he is satisfied to promote his current novel and to take it easy after so many years of hard work. Still, for those interested, Anthony plans to write two sequel books, tentatively titled "Shadowlord Forever" and "By The Dawn's Early Light" for release in the not too distant future. The former will wrap up events originally in "Tamarlayn," while the other will take place after events in "Shadowlord Forever" and introduce a crisis so grave that the entire Galaxy is in danger of being utterly destroyed.
"After that," he promises confidently,"the sky's the limit. The universe I've created has the potential to launch a new mythology in SF and I fully intend to do just that. After all," he explains in closing, "to quote a line from 'Tamarlayn'--'Destiny be the fire in which we burn.'"
