Julie Kim - More than a voice... A Signature
December 1st 2000,
Julie Kim, a singer from Toronto, Ontario, is releasing her second mini album in June 2001 and Mr. Brent Bodrug will produce it.
Producer Brent Bodrug draws on the diversity of his musical influences to create innovative, groove-based recordings. His production style has been compared to that of Trevor Horn, Prince and Brian Eno.
Brent has produced, written and arranged for artists such as Alanis Morissette (Maverick/Warner), Jacksoul (BMG/Ariola), Son (Warner), and Aquanaut (Q107/Hitz 97.7 Homegrown Contest Winners). He has also produced and arranged for a variety of independent artists, most recently Plastic Soul, Warm and Paul Manchin (featured in Billboard Magazine).
Brent's approach reflects the years he has spent as a player. A former protégé of jazz great Oscar Peterson, Brent offers perspective as a musician as well as a producer.
Brent is also a recording engineer. He works primarily out of Sly-Fi Studios, but has experience working in a number of studio environments. Besides engineering the projects he produces, Brent lends his technical skills to other projects. Brent has recorded, mixed and mastered several albums for other producers.
The modern "remix" has affected all genres of music. Brent remixes for artists seeking new markets or wanting to rework previously recorded material. Starting from a multitrack master or a simple vocal, Brent is able to reinvent the sound.
