-- for immediate release
Belham Valley Records in affiliation with TheArtsContest.com has created a unique songwriting competition. The Belham Valley Songwriting Competition, launched in March of 2000, is open to songwriters and lyricists around the world. Songwriters of all ages and genres of music are eligible to participate in the contest which features the biggest cash purse of any existing songwriting contest. "Our ongoing contests distinguish themselves from other competitions by offering more prize money (a $50,000. cash Grand Prize), more music categories (twenty), and more cash prize winners (sixty-three) than any other song contest. We will also have additional prize packages for honourable mentions," says Gary Robilotta, producer and founder of Belham Valley Records.
"It is with incentives like these that we look to foster the art and craft of songwriting excellence and recognize, reward, and encourage the legions of burgeoning composers. "We also feature a low entry fee, with even lower fees for multiple-song submissions. It should be noted that only original, previously unreleased material is eligible and that entrants retain all rights to their songs," adds Gary. "Recognizing that the road to success in this industry can be a long and arduous one, this contest was designed to reward emerging and deserving talents which too often go undiscovered," says Carrll Robilotta, Marketing Director and co-founder of the label.
In addition to the contest's large cash prizes, Belham Valley Records produces a CD featuring the Grand Prize winner's song along with songs from the first place winners in each category from every round of competition. The disc is distributed among industry execs. "These two features reward talented songwriters and lyricists with a significant degree of achievement. Moreover, ensuing recognition from their peers, industry executives, and the music media helps further the careers of our winners," concludes Carrll.
The Belham Valley Songwriting Competition donates a portion of contest profits to music foundations and scholarship funds. Contest sponsors include several well-known music-related companies as well as select outside-industry entities.
Based in Maui, Belham Valley Records was established in 1993 on the Caribbean island of Montserrat, and has since been involved in charitable efforts for the people of that volcano-ravaged island. Readers can visit the contest's website at: http://TheArtsContest.com (as of March 1, 2000) for further information about Belham Valley Records and their songwriting contest.
