New e-commerce-solution expected to turnover USD 4 billion the year 2001!
Swedish e-commerce solution provider NS Group releases a new e-commerce application platform named 4Trade. The first client to use the application is FruitLine with its European real time market place for fruit and vegetables.
FruitLine, based in Helsingborg Sweden, is first out introducing a real time market place for fruit and vegetables.
NS Group has developed a new generation, platform independent e-commerce software that meets the demands for scalability, availability and security that business over the Internet requires. The system is suited for real time e-commerce with any type of product and offers full integration with buyer and seller ERP-systems.
The marketplace will also contain a portal with services such as market information, trade statistics, reports of bad weather that effects availability and quality of products, product information and WAP functionality for dealing over the GSM network.
"That FruitLine chooses NS Group's e-commerce platform and NS Group as the supplier of consultant services for business development and systems integration is of great strategical importance for us. It shows our capability of offering solutions that meets the demands of e-business development", says Nicklas Platow CEO of NS Group.
Initially the order is worth USD 4 million for NS Group and the expectations are that this order will position the company on the international arena as a leading e-commerce supplier and partner. There are ongoing discussions with several other companies to establish other real time market places. NS Group's total service and product-offerings are gathered under the name
E-conomy which contains all components that is needed to do business in the new network economy.
NS group is delivering a complete solution together with Oracle and Sun.
"A real time trade system demands extreme reliability and security. We wanted a stabile and scalable platform developed and run on proven state of art-technology. Doing this with partners like Oracle and SUN was the right choice" says Nicklas Platow.
FruitLine's business concept is to create a global real time market place for fruit and vegetables and by that making it simpler and more efficient for sellers and buyers to do business. FruitLine takes a small commission for each transaction on the system. This new marketplace addresses a market that is worth more than USD 40 billion a year in Europe, the global market is worth USD 87 billion.
"FruitLine represents the new type of network based business models which in combination with the Java-based 4Trade-application from NS Group creates added value for their customers. SUN created Java and were part of the creation of the infrastructure that Internet is based on and it's naturally very interesting for us to participate as partner in this solution" says Peter Nordqvist, Account Manager Sun Microsystems AB.
This type of real time marketplaces offers exciting opportunities and has a potential to succeed in the global network economy. Old business models with lots of middle hands are crushed while new, hopefully for the end customer, more interesting models are developed. FruitLine is an interesting reference for Oracle who uses the Oracle8i database in an extremely transaction intensive solution" says Niklas Svärd, salesman e-business solutions Oracle Svenska AB.
FruitLine is now signing both buyers and sellers before launching the real time market place in march this year. A large number of big players on this market have declared their intention to participate which means that a sizable market share already is secured.
