Child-Safe Internet Browser Debuts
Surf Guardian, Inc. (PRWEB) March 30, 2000 -Safe Internet Browser. Using the Surf Guardian browser, children select from over 1500 Internet sites that have been certified as "child-safe" by the Surf Guardian Review Team. Patrick Elavsky, president of Surf Guardian, Inc. says, "Only those Internet sites that are free of pornography, bad language, violence or adult content are certified as "child-safe."
Elavsky explains, "Children using the Surf Guardian Internet Browser select from dozens of categories of websites covering history, games, science, social studies, geography and so on." We want young people to be able to use the power of the Internet for learning and fun without being subjected to harmful influences."
The Surf Guardian team adds newly certified sites each week and regularly reviews existing sites to assure that the websites are still in compliance.
"Most filtering software programs for children's Internet are only 90-95% effective", says Elavsky. "This means that over 10,000 prohibited sites are missed by filters. With Surf Guardian, our team of parents and educators personally review every website to assure that it meets our stringent criteria. The Internet is now safe for children."
