Lodging.com introduces International Reservation Capabilities
Making international travel reservations is easier now that Lodging.com, a leading online travel agency, has added the capability to book abroad. The expanded system, which went live March 1st, allows users to make online hotel reservations at more than 50,000 worldwide locations.
The new feature utilizes Lodging.coms easy-to use interface and allows users to earn cash-back rebates on travel purchases.
The system was introduced in response to numerous requests from our customers," said Edward Silver, Lodging.coms Vice President. Our system takes the guesswork out of booking a hotel no matter how far away it is."
The new feature is one of many that Lodging.com has planned for the future. In addition to standard hotel reservations, the company features a growing network of properties offering exclusive rates only available through Lodging.com. To make international reservations more attractive, it hopes to expand this resource to include properties abroad.
According to Jupiter Communications, the international travel market is growing rapidly and many United States companies are aggressively pursuing it.
We have great customer service and support and are confident that our system will make it easier for people planning international travel, " stated Melanie Broemsen, Director of Marketing.
International reservations now account for 5 percent of Lodging.coms hotel bookings.
Lodging.com processes more than 2000 hotel reservations per week and will generate more than $20 million in room sales in 2000. Media Metrix, PC Data Online and Top9.com rank Lodging.com among the top 25 most popular travel sites. This site can be found at http://www.lodging.com.
