PristineEarth.com Will Provide Alternative Media Coverage of the IMF/World Bank Protests

While activists are honing their non-violent, peaceful protest skills, and police are stocking up on tear gas and pepper spray, www.PristineEarth.com is gearing up a team of reporters and photographers to provide front-line coverage of the International Monetary Fund/World Bank protests, to be held in Washington D.C. on April 16 and 17. PristineEarth.com announced the coverage today, noting that they will be reporting on the event with a special focus on environmental activism and issues.

www.PristineEarth.com, a committed grass-roots environmental news organization, will feature on-the-scene hourly updates, as well as audio and video interviews with key activists and IMF/World Bank officials, where possible. The coverage of the event will be audio, visual, and text and will begin on April 12th.

With the World Trade Organization (WTO) Seattle protests in the not-so-distant past, analysts on both sides of the issue are predicting a high-energy event. (The key protests will surround the IMF/World Bank spring meetings, to be held on April 16 and 17.) Grass-roots activists plan to capitalize on the momentum gained from the dramatic Seattle protests to voice their opposition to the "globalization from above" imposed by the IMF and World Bank, along with the WTO. www.PristineEarth.com spokesperson Michael Bond commented, "We feel that this event is of great importance to everyone in the world. Protesters believe that the IMF/World Bank bears a significant portion of the responsibility for the environmental degradation that has been plaguing the developing countries of the world." Bond also stated, "We feel that the mainstream media coverage of the Seattle protest grievously misrepresented the motives and actions of most of the protesters, so we feel it's important to provide coverage of this event which is coming from the grass-roots level."

www.PristineEarth.com is the newly launched sister site of www.PlanetVeggie.com , an all-vegetarian supersite dedicated to promoting a healthy, vegetarian lifestyle.
