ANNOUNCEMENT FOR NEW SPORTS THEATER CHAIN HAS HOLLYWOOD TALKING
LA-Based Company Plans to Bring Athletes to the Big Screen
LOS ANGELES, CA-- A sports bar... a movie theater... but a sports theater? "Only in LA" you say. And you'd be right. Sports Theaters, Inc., announced today that we may be seeing Shaquille O'Neal on the big screen again... and we don't mean in the movies.
Sports Theaters Inc. announced that it has initiated plans for a revolutionary sports entertainment franchise that is expected to attract spectators nationwide. Touted as the next "hot spot for the twenty-to-thirty-something set," this venture will merge the arenas of sports and entertainment to create the world's premier sports theater experience. The first of these impressive venues slated to open are in Los Angeles and Chicago in January 2001.
The venture includes a series of high-tech theaters offering an interactive atmosphere for sports, music, and dining under the same roof. Among the events scheduled to appear are the Super Bowl, World Series, Daytona 500, NCAA Final Four, Olympic Games, as well as popular boxing matches, horse races, soccer games, and golf tournaments. The franchise also hopes to attract patrons by promoting special themes for major events, hosting high-profiled athletes and sports executives for interviews with fans, and offering alternative entertainment.
"It's difficult to describe the atmosphere of your favorite sports bar," says Sports Theaters managing general partner Alan White. "It's fun, it's exciting...it's electric. What we hope to do with Sports Theaters is deliver that electric atmosphere to a larger audience by offering them the ultimate sports viewing experience." In fact, Theater Design of Chicago has already begun engineering deluxe seats that will provide unparalleled comfort for Sports Theater patrons.
The Sports Theaters business model will emulate the concept of luxury box seating while keeping prices affordable for the everyday fan. High quality food and service will be a hallmark. Services and amenities will be highly profiled yet modestly priced.
White continues, "With Sports Theaters, we have created a way for fans to watch their favorite teams without having to pay outrageous ticket prices, and still have a fantastic time." And as part of the theater benefits, fans will have the opportunity to purchase season ticket packages. Customized seating will also be available for a selected number of spectators seeking a luxurious and comfortable experience.
Sports Theaters has attracted several local investors in southern California and Chicago for its initial franchises. While precise locations have yet to be determined, White said that plans are to start construction on the flagship theaters this summer. Expansion designs are in the works for franchises in 200 additional cities, including New York, Miami, Mexico City, London, Cleveland, Paris, Atlanta, Toronto, Boston and Las Vegas. Each location will feature a 500- 1000 seat capacity theater, along with adjacent areas for alternative entertainment.
The company is currently seeking franchisors and corporate partners to develop the plan. For more information on Sports Theaters Inc., please contact Alan White, 1998 Independent candidate for Governor of Arizona, at (800) 348-2723.
