FREEDOMS FOUNDATION PROGRAMS EARN SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS' APPROVAL
VALLEY FORGE, PA (PRWEB) April 27, 2000 -- Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge earned a valuable endorsement for its highly regarded Spirit of America youth conferences through the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the nation's largest school leadership organization.
The association's National Committee on Contests and Activities, during its annual meeting earlier this month, voted to list Freedom Foundation high school youth conferences on the approved NASSP National Advisory List of Contests and Activities for 2000-2001. In the process, NASSP officials said that Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge should "be commended for sponsoring student programs of such high caliber."
"Our Spirit of America youth conferences are the cornerstone of our educational mission to raise generations of citizens who are above reproach when it comes to commitment to their community and their country," said Lt. Gen. Robert E. Kelley, USAF (Ret), president of Freedoms Foundation.
"Each year more than 4,000 students visit our 105-acre campus and each one leaves with a better understanding of their role as individuals within the community," said Beth Specker, vice president of youth programs. "Support from a group like the National Association of Secondary School Principals is an important step as the foundation explores new ways of growing its program enrollment."
The NASSP consists of more than 42,000 middle school and high school principals and assistant principals. The organization also is home to the National Honor Society and the National Alliance of High Schools.
