MIQS, Inc. Names John Heinrich as President and CEO

May 5, 2000 - Boulder, Colorado. MIQS, Inc., a leading developer of healthcare information technology solutions, announced the appointment of John P. Heinrich as President and Chief Executive Officer. Stephen Pollak, who has served as President and CEO of MIQS since he co-founded the company, will become Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Heinrich was formerly the President and CEO of Otsuka Electronics USA Inc., which was recently acquired by Elscint, Inc., and Varian Associates. Before joining Otsuka, Mr. Heinrich served as President of Summit World Trade in Hudson, Ohio and President of Technomed International, Inc. in Danvers, Massachusetts. He is a PhD graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

In joining MIQS, Mr. Heinrich commented "The MIQS team has developed an exceptional clinical information system and the forces currently at work in the healthcare world make it the right time for wide adoption of such a system. I look forward to working with them to establish a leading market position and to achieve financial success for MIQS and our customers and partners."

James McGroddy, the Board Chairman of MIQS, said "As MIQS builds to the next stage we are pleased to have the benefit of John Heinrich's broad experience in making technology effective in improving healthcare."

MIQS is a supplier of the Disease Manager Plus(TM) and MediLink(TM) suite of information technology products, built around a comprehensive electronic medical record, that support a broad set of clinical and administrative applications in healthcare. The MIQS application has been demonstrated to enable both better clinical outcomes and substantially reduced costs in caring for chronically ill patients, such as those with end stage renal disease.
