The Korean Consortium represents the interests of KIMI Data System, TV Homemart, IB & Technology, Oriental Adcom, CTV, Media Net and Contrunet. eZuz will launch the Korean language comparison shopping portal, that will feature domestic merchants, content and transactions, on September 1st, 2000. eZuz Korea will establish a head office in Seoul that will be led by a local management team.
¡°The presence of eZuz and the establishment of a comparison shopping network will stimulate the Korean public to effectively shop online,¡± according to Byung Sub Cho the leader of the Korean Partners consortium. ¡°This presents a great opportunity for Korean merchants to be part of cutting edge information delivery while exposing their wares to a global audience.¡±
¡°Our partners in Korea are very strong and their regional expertise will help eZuz create a dominant brand in Asia and worldwide,¡± said Matthew Keddy, President and CEO of eZuz. ¡°We will move e-Commerce to the next level with the operation of our global network and enabling web wares technologies.¡±
The announcement comes during a Canadian Technology Mission sponsored by the National Research Council Canada (NRC), Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) and the Small Medium Industry Promotion Corporation in Korea, of which eZuz is a participating company.
¡°The end result of deals like eZuz and their partners is the rationale for these technology missions,¡± according to Bruce Pridmore leader of the Canadian Technology Mission and Regional Director NRC Canada and IRAP. ¡°We are extremely happy to have this agreement signed.
