Biodata Participates At United Nations Hi-Tech Summit
Global Leader in Communication and Network Security.
Biodata Information Technology is to participate at a United Nations' Economic and Social Council's Annual High-Level Meeting. Biodata will be one of a select few exhibitors invited to the three day Information Technologies event. The title of the high-level meeting, known as ECOSOC 2000, is Development and International Cooperation in the 21st Century: The Role of Information Technologies in the Context of a Knowledge-based Global Economy". ECOSOC 2000 takes place in the United Nations Building, New York, from July 5-7, 2000.
Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations, will keynote ECOSOC 2000, and Ambassador Dr. Makarim Wibisono, ECOSOC President, will chair the meeting. Special guest speakers include US Vice President Al Gore and Lawrence H. Summers, US Treasury Secretary. The three day meeting kicks off ECOSOC's Year 2000 Session that takes place at the UN from July 5 - 8. Participating IT companies that will exhibit at ECOSOC 2000 include Biodata Information Technology, Nortel Networks, Compaq, Check Point, Hewlett Packard, Lernout & Hauspie, Trend Micro, SABA, Dell and Compunnel India.
Biodatas evening presentation, titled The Importance of Encryption as a Means of Communication Security in the Global Marketplace", given by CEO Tan Siekmann, will be held on Wednesday July 5 at 6.00 PM.
The United Nations Economic and Social council invites corporate IT professionals, who would like to know more about the newest IT developments, to attend the evening IT presentations provided by the participating companies. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to interact both socially and professionally with Information and Development Ministers from 54 nations, and with high-level ambassadors and diplomats from 180 nations. Additionally, participants at the event include the chiefs from the World Bank, Regional Development Banks, the International Monetary Fund, the International Chamber of Commerce, the World Trade Organization, the International Telecommunication Union, the United Nations Development Program, the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the UN Conference on Trade and Development, the UN Children's Fund, and more.
