SQL-Server-Performance.Com Offers Hundreds of Tips on Optimizing Microsoft SQL Server

One of the biggest grips of users is "why is the database so slow," and to help prevent this question from ever being asked again is a new web site: http://www.sql-server-performance.com.

SQL-Server-Performance.Com includes hundreds of SQL Server performance tuning and optimization tips that include a wide range of subjects, including:

ASP/SQL
Backup/Restore
Database Design
DTS/BCP
Indexes
OLAP
Server Hardware
Stored Procedures
Transact-SQL
Visual Basic
And much more

The tips are organized by topic, making it easy for DBAs and developers to find the information they need. In addition, a comprehensive search engine makes it easy to search the site for tips on any SQL Server performance-related subject.

Currently, the web site focuses on SQL Server 7.0 running on Windows NT 4.0, although there are a few tips specific to SQL 2000 and Windows 2000. In the months ahead, both SQL 2000 and Windows 2000 performance tuning tips will be fully integrated into the site.
