A Wrestling and roller derby live event
August 12th will be an action packed wrestling and roller derby event!
Is roller derby like Wrestling?
Even though both sports have been around for many years, no one has attempted to hold a single evening where the roller derby and wrestling occur on the same evening in the same arena. You think this would have been done years ago", says Tim Patten owner of the Bay City Bombers. Everyone puts these two sports in the same category. Well this night will tell us all if they belong linked together or not".
The fans that come to this special live event on August 12th will see for themselves. We might just find out that wrestling is nothing like roller derby once and for all. The leagues will erect the relatively small wrestling ring in the center of the one hundred-foot long big-banked roller derby track. Then special VIP seats will be erected for both fans of the events to be up close and personal to their favorite stars and all the double-barreled action.
Jolynn Hyland who is a wrestling fan and the only female roller derby referee inspired the event. Jolynn has been planning the event for over six months now and will be on hand to be the host of the entire evening as well as don her referees uniform and break up the mayhem between the men and women of the roller derby. She admits that things get out of hand inside the track and has been taking self-defense lessons so she doesnt have to step down from the athletes who might be many pounds and inches bigger than her.
The promoters have spared no expense for this once in a lifetime event.
On hand will be Terry Sol a twenty five-year veteran roller derby trackside announcer and radio personality for KZBY radio in Silverton Oregon and Keith Coppage the author of Roller Derby® to Rollerjam.
Also covering a five camera production and on color commentary will be the legendary Jan Vallow. Ms Vallow has been dubbed by the media as the meanest woman in all sports, the queen of mean, and the greatest banked track skater that ever lived.
For those fans that wish to meet and greet in person these famous wrestlers from WWF and WCW along with roller derby legends such as Jumping Joe Perez and Jan Vallow, special VIP/Backstage passes are now on sale.
