Magic duo Penn and Teller headline Silicon Valley gala to end homelessness

SAN JOSE, CA – On Saturday, September 9, friends and supporters of InnVision will gather at the Fairmont Hotel to enjoy a gourmet dinner, live auction, silent auction, and entertainment by the offbeat magic/comedy act Penn and Teller. Their act, which will headline this summer in Las Vegas, has been described as magic for people who hate magic shows." The evening will raise money for InnVision, the leading agency in the fight against homelessness in Silicon Valley.
This years event will mark the second time a nationally known celebrity has stepped forward to headline InnVisions annual fundraising dinner. Last years event featuring late-night TV superstar Jay Leno raised $72,000. This year we hope to raise $100,000 " says Katherine Webb Calhoon, Development Officer for InnVision. It will be a memorable evening for people who share our vision of an end to homelessness." If youre not already on the mailing list, you can receive an invitation by calling Calhoon at (408)-292-4286.
The Live Auction is sure to include some unique items: last years auction featured a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Bette Midler dollhouse, and a Pete Sampras tennis racquet. A large basket containing a set of collectable porcelain dolls will be among the gift baskets, trips, gift certificates, and wines available at the Silent Auction, which will also take place during the evening.
InnVision has been serving the community since 1973. The agency now operates at eleven locations in Santa Clara County, and works in partnership with hundreds of community volunteers, corporations, and service groups. Together they operate emergency shelters, multi-service centers, and transitional housing to help homeless families and individuals rebuild stable lives.
