FAIRFIELD, CT, July 10, 2000 - Debra O'Keefe, a Fairfield mother of two young children, has launched a new web site called CTChild.com. The site presents information about activities, events, products, and services for children and their families in Fairfield County.

The idea for the web site grew naturally from Debra¹s experience with her own two preschool children combined with more than a decade¹s experience in marketing and promotions. This community is so child-centered that it takes time to investigate and evaluate everything available," she said.

Like all parents, I¹m always looking for what¹s best for my son and daughter. While personal interest led O¹Keefe to the subject matter for CTChild, her business background made her immediately envision the potential for sharing this information in an easily accessible, around the clock, up-to-date format. "I was tired of picking up flyers at the local library, searching through parenting publications, and relying on friends for information." She adds, "I am certain that other parents also want a one-stop shopping, if you will, of services, activities and products geared towards their families."

Recent research supports the growing demand for this type of information. In the United States,
the percentage of women using the Internet at home has surpassed the percentage of men. Studies show that these women are mainly visiting home and general information sites that are relevant to their daily lives.

O'Keefe's envisions CTChild will become a site that users will bookmark and visit again and again to view updated information.
