Idiots, Crackpots, The Lonely: ASYMPTOTE Magazine To Serve Them All!
WORCESTER, Mass., Aug. 14 -- Today asymptote (http://www.asymptote.cjb.net), a new online magazine, announces its launch. It will not change or revolutionize anything though. Nope. It will not be anything that you haven't seen before.
"We're planning on offering more of the same old stuff," says editor Chris Morley, "Slate, Salon, Feed, Suck, McSweeney's...you've seen this stuff before. We're planning on doing it very similarly, but probably with lower quality."
Fueled by almost two hundred and eighty-five dollars in startup capital, the site will feature the writing of Charles Krepke, Shannon Ostertag, and C.K. Lever. Says editor Chris Morley, "Most of these people couldn't write their way out of a wet, brown paper sack, which is actually okay since I'm very interested in the insides of wet, brown paper sacks. Plus, I'm not paying them anything. Sometimes I promise to buy them beer, but then I never come through. They're idiots. A three year old could trick them."
The site will be updated every weekday and will feature an inaugural article on modern farming. Future articles will cover the wonders of electronic bulletin boards, football games, and the history of zip codes.
