DAILY UPDATES MAKE NEW PHARMACEUTICAL INTELLIGENCE DATABASE ONE OF FASTEST SERVICES ON THE WEB
Drug discovery has entered a phase of rapid change and one innovative organization that is set to take advantage is Current Drugs Ltd. The companys latest database, IDdb3, offers one of the fastest pharmaceutical intelligence services on the web and will be on show at the BioFuture 2000 exhibition in Calgary, Alberta, Canada which opens tomorrow (12 September). IDdb3 tracks drugs in development from the first patent through to eventual launch or discontinuation.
Said Current Drugs Managing Director, Ian Tarr: Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies are under increasing pressure to develop new products in a shorter time scale than they have in the past. To do this they need access to the most up-to-date information available – not only to find out what their competitors are doing but also to find potential business partners. More and more pharmaceutical and biotech companies are forming partnerships to speed up the drug development process and products such as IDdb3 are playing a vital role in bringing them together."
The first Internet version of IDdb built up an impressive client list – including most of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies – many of whom were instrumental in developing IDdb3.
We were the first to produce a pharmaceutical intelligence service on the Internet five years ago and when we came to develop IDdb3 we asked our customers what improvements they would like to see," added Mr Tarr. As a result we have introduced daily updates and unique personalization features, plus over the next few months we will be adding new functions, for instance competitor analysis, and links to related third party databases such as the Incidence and Prevalence Database."
IDdb3 contains an impressive array of information including reports on 15,800 investigational drugs, 67,800 therapeutic patents, 2,000 meetings, and 14,100 companies (including financial and sales data), plus 350,000 scientific literature references. In addition, the reports contain unique expert commentary and analysis from Current Drugs own editors.
