Mass Audio Visual summer training and promotions

Rick Lawson Promoted to Audio Visual Services Manager for Nortel Networks
On July 21st of 2000, Rick Lawson, a massAV employee since 1984, was promoted to
the Manager of AV services at Nortel Networks in Billerica. This past summer massAV was contracted to handle all AV support for all buildings, meeting rooms and cafeterias on the corporate campus.
With a population of over 3,000 people, the daunting task could only be filled by our best. Until recently Rick served as a Customer Service Representative in the Burlington Office, and brings with him to the new position and extensive knowledge of AV technology.

Three massAV Employees attend, RIGSTAR, the Worlds Premier Rigging, Training and Testing Center.
The intensive 5-day school, held in Northampton, MA, covered all aspects of rigging and rigging safety. Rhode Island Convention Center AV supervisor Rob Lavallee, technician Chris Papalski and project manager Aaron Raymond attended the course.
Steven Kendall, proprietor of the school, is considered by many in his field as a master rigger and innovator to the advancement of concert and theatrical rigging, along with the patenting, designing, engineering and manufacturing of many product lines. Mr. Kendall has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge in his 3 decades of work on various events including The Republican and Democratic conventions, concert tours, motion pictures, stage plays and trade shows. He has also worked as a consultant for many product lines including EAW, Klipsh, arena and theater Truss and grid systems
The week of courses dealt with hands on work and education with:
-the use of digital preset counter Laser rigging techniques
-load and break testing
-basic rigging practices
-bending moments of materials, deflections Side loading, compression
-maintenance and repair of chain hoists, controls systems
-and many more topics
Andre LeJeune Completes Workshop with massAV
In an ongoing effort to strive for employee excellence and knowledge, during the week of July 10th, massAV sponsored a clinic teaming one of the industrys most respected educators with company employees.
Mr. LeJeune brings 29 years of experience in the audio-visual and staging industry. He began his career in 1971 working for a sound company that toured with national concert music acts. In 1981, André left the music industry for a career in audio-visual, holding positions in rental management, hotel AV, video production, and staging for national accounts. He has been a faculty member of the ICIA Institute for Professional Development since 1982 and has served as Chairman of the Professional Education and Training Committee of ICIA.
The three-day event covered all aspects of staging, sound reinforcement, rigging, lighting and safety techniques.
