CalOptic, Tustin, California-September 14, 2000 introduces the SpeedBurn, a new and innovative CDRW Recorder comprising of the most advanced technology to allow users easy, fast, and efficient CD copying. SpeedBurn utilizes Burn-Proof technology as well as the FireWire interface to facilitate multitasking, eliminate buffer underrun errors, offer hot pluggable and versatility. This 12X write 10X rewrite 32X read drive is the fastest in the industry, made compatible for PC and MAC users. SpeedBurn is 40% faster than a Zip disc and has 3 times the storage capacity. Speedburn comes with its own easy, drop-and-dragrecording software which incorporates NTI CD-Maker200 or Nero 5.0 for PC, and NTI MagicWriter for MAC.

Burn-Proof Technology

During the writing process, errors may occur when the data flowing to the CD burner's buffer memory is disrupted. These errors typically occur when the user tries to perform anothertask during the writing process or when the source cannot supply data fast enough to the burner. SpeedBurn's built in buffer memory continuously monitors the interruption in the flow of information and adjusts the recording at exactly the precise position where recording was originally suspended. The result is a successfully recorded CD everytime.

Firewire Interface (IEEE 1394)Features:

- Hot Pluggable - devices can be added or removed while your system is running withimmediate device recognition.
