Outrider More than Doubles the Industry Standard For Opt-in E-mail Marketing Campaign

FARMINGTON, CT September 12, 2000 Outrider (www.outrider.com), a global interactive agency, today announces unheard of opt-in email campaign results for consumer and lifestyle trends research client Yankelovich (www.yankelovich.com). Outriders recent email marketing campaign commanded a 37% click-through rate (CTR)
and 43% conversion. Charged with generating trial partnership leads for a new Yankelovich product offering
decisionDOMAIN, Outrider met the challenge and promptly secured enough quality leads to help close 30% of trial partnership sales within the first 48 hours.

E-mail click-through rate percentages vary
widely even among the industrys best sources for reporting such data. eMarketer estimates the average CTR for an opt-in e-mail campaign to be 11.5%. Comparatively, Jupiter Communications estimates a 5 15% CTR while Forrester sets the number at 18%. No matter which industry resource experts subscribe to, Outriders recent campaign for Yankelovich exceeded them all.

memo from Yankelovich senior vice president, Mike Phillips and was sent out to the Yankelovich eVision opt-in newsletter list. The subject line We need your help" grabbed readers attention, and helped compel 37% of them to read more about the Yankelovich trial partnership program. A good number of respondents went further to complete four screener questions and ultimately were called by either Mike Phillips himself, or Senior Sales executive Adam Godwin to complete the sale.
