Spitfire Fighter Drawings available online
COPYZONE ARCHIVING LTD (CZA) -- a UK company specialising in replacing paper and microfilm with CD-ROM -- makes 2,500 spitfire drawings available through the internet.
In conjunction with The Lincolnshire Lancaster Association, CZA, this week, launched www.spitfirerestoration.com a website that gives visitors the ability to search for particular drawings and buy them online. Drawings will then be sent either electronically or on paper via airmail.
Stuart Stephenson, Honorary Chairman of the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association, says We are pleased to be able to use modern technology to make these important drawings available, at a reasonable price, to enthusiasts around the world"
CZAs Marketing Director, Ian Hudson says: . We have tried to make the site as easy to use as possible and we have already received expressions of interest from over fifty aircraft restorers in ten countries. I am sure that our service will be of great value to many people"
CZAs main business is in helping organisations move away from paper and microfilm. They have invested in equipment that will enable paper of any size (including labels), microfilm, and aperture cards to be scanned and indexed before being written to CD-ROM. Customers are provided with software that will find any document by the use of keywords.
