Operation Coldwinds
Beginning February 7 team of Alaskan men will begin a 917 mile arctic trek from the North slope of Alaska down to Anchorage in support of persecuted Christians. It is an extension of a project conducted in June of last year in which thousands of cards, notes, and and a large wooden cross bearing the names of churches from around the state were transported into the war zone of Southern Sudan to encourage the believers there who are being targeted by a radical Islamic Jihad. The Alaskans are operating on the premise of Proverbs 25:25 which states, " Like water to a thirsty soul is good news from a far country." They believe that encouragement from anyplace would be welcome news to our persecuted brethren but if the same were to come from a place as remote and bearing the mystique and imagery of a place like Alaska it would serve to amplify it's impact. More information and details including progress tracking along the route can be obtained at www.goodworksrus.org.
