A New Humor Site on the Web? Say it isn't So!

COSTA MESA, CA -- FEBRUARY 6, 2001 -- metazai Productions, an independant Southern California-based web production company, announces the official launch of The Midway (http://www.themidway.net), a humor and satire site unlike so many on the web in one main respect: it's actually funny.

"There are lots of joke sites out there, and just like with any form of human content, sometimes the lamest stuff is the most prevalent", says Michael Carney, editor of The Midway. "The Midway is an attempt to change that, to show that comedy on the web can be clean, professional, and above all, funny."

The Midway will feature two regular Humor Columnists, weekly comedy features, and a photo-journalists' nightmare called "Film@11", actual photos from the weeks news with the captions that should have been written but never were. "Above all, we want to entertain the people who are sick to death of the lame jokes, the cheesy designs, and the general cynicism of so many other sites," added Carney.
