Ex-lawyer turned programmer creates fastest web-based trading software

Sapphire Bay, Inc. announced today the release of the "SleekTrade" interface to its existing customers. "SleekTrade" is the "fastest advanced order routing interface" on the web today, and it integrates closely with the Datek Online brokerage. The product allows SOES orders, access to all major ECNs and Market Makers, as well as the option to use Datek's proprietary intelligent trade routing feature.

Sapphire Bay was founded by W.L.Durden, a former partner with the Savannah, Georgia law firm of Brannen, Searcy & Smith. Mr. Durden gave up trial practice in 1998 to develop software, and Sapphire Bay, Inc. has created superior trading interfaces since its inception.

Sapphire Bay has offered users the "daSlinger" trading interface for two and one-half years, and "SleekTrade" represents a major advance in the underlying technology. Sapphire Bay, Inc. also produces the ThoughtCanvas software used for capturing and organizing ideas, notes and web clippings.
