Live Wireless Audio Streaming Usage Study To Be Conducted By XStreamVoice

Nashville, Tenn. -- [February 22, 2001] -- XStreamVoice announced today that it has begun a usage study on live wireless audio streaming. There have been several recent studies regarding wireless usage with text-based and pre-programmed audio content, however within the world of wireless devices users have not yet been given access to live audio streams of news, entertainment, weather, corporate communications, etc. Preliminary findings from the research suggest that some of the user preferences for text-based applications will carry over to wireless audio streaming applications, but greater satisfaction is anticipated with wireless audio streaming, as consumer expectations are not being met by current text-based offerings.

The report will use the Kano model to define specific categories of user preferences (e.g., content, device, etc.) by customer segment. The Kano model suggests there are three categories of user preference: must-be," more is better," and delighters." XStreamVoices objective is to define these attributes for each user segment to enable their partners and the marketplace in general to develop and launch offerings along these categories. The research will be conducted in several phases. The first phase will include North America; the second phase will include Europe and Asia, while the third phase will include South America and third-world countries.

Dr. Michael Williams of Illinois State University will lead the project for XStreamVoice. We believe that integrating the results of this research will be a 'must-be for any firm either currently active in or planning to participate in the wireless audio space - specifically, those planning to offer live audio streaming to wireless devices. We are honored that XStreamVoice has asked us to do this project and we look forward to providing the results to the marketplace as a means of educating the market," says Williams.

The report will benefit carriers, wireless device manufacturers, those wanting to enter the wireless space and marketers. XStreamVoices business model is based on the premise that each of our strategies and decisions are supported by data. In light of the marketplaces past experience of rushing to invest in Web initiatives, we have chosen to adhere to a data-driven philosophy that ensures our own value proposition and enables us to assist our partners in designing effective offerings," says Jay Deragon, Chairman.

The research will be launched in March of this year and completion of phase one is anticipated by the end of the second quarter.
