TO LEAD TWO KEY COMMUNICATIONS SEARCHES

Pasadena, CA (February 28, 2001) -- Capital One Financial Corporation has once again, selected TRRG, Inc., one of the countrys leading executive search firms specializing in communications, marketing and investor relations search assignments, to lead the search for a Director of Communications for the Marketing and Analysis Group, and a Director of Communications for the Risk Group, both located in Capital Ones, Richmond, Virginia headquarters.

The individual selected for the Director of Communications of the Marketing and Analysis Group, will report directly to the head of the Marketing and Analysis Group, with a dotted line reporting structure to the Director of Associate Communications at corporate headquarters. The key initiative as Director of Communications, will focus on leading a world-class internal communications department on a proactive basis in developing and managing the Marketing and Analysis Groups internal communications strategies and programs. This professional will serve as a key strategic leader in terms of effecting programs that will support not only this Groups key initiatives and goals, but also those of the parent entity.

The individual selected for the Director of Communications of the Risk Group, will report to the Director of Risk Operations, with a dotted line reporting structure to the Director of Associate Communications at corporate headquarters. As the Director of Communications, the selected professional will be responsible for leading a world-class internal communications department on a proactive basis to develop and manage the Risk Groups internal communications strategies and programs. This newly-created position will also focus on assessing the internal communications needs surrounding the three key areas of the Risk Group: Collections, Fraud and Recovery, as a means of effecting programs that will support not only this Groups key initiatives and goals, but also those of the parent entity.
